Executive Director's Corner

Dear Friends of HUM,

One of my great joys is watching the transformation that occurs as men are freed from addictions. When men experience the power of forgiveness, their lives are transformed in a remarkable way that is evident to those around them. The light of hope and forgiveness is truly stronger than the power of addiction.

Through the faithful financial support of our family of volunteers, donors and prayer supporters, we are able to give hope to almost 300 men each day. One of the ways we do this is through our annual Hope Tote Campaign.

Many of the men in our Spiritual Recovery Program enter the Mission as overnight guests. Living on the streets, they arrive dirty, drained and defeated. Receiving a Hope Tote filled with personal hygiene items and new underwear allows the men to reclaim their personal dignity and can be just the encouragement they need to take the next step in their recovery.

I hope you will consider participating in the 2007 Hope Tote Campaign. And...may you experience the power of hope in your own life!

God Bless,

Robert K. Gehman

P.S. See first-hand how your gift is changing lives. If you have not had the opportunity to visit HUM, I encourage you to call the Development Office at 410-327-5296 to schedule a tour.
